RENO-FERNLEY RACEWAY

It was a beautiful day for racing in Nevada.  The Blackwell Motorsports Pontiac and the Bay Muffler Shop Esslinger were brought to the track in the same trailer and shared the same pit area. With the track in the background,the pit is a busy place, with two teams getting the cars ready for the track.

While Bill Foland, driver of the Pontiac 27B car, is checking out a tire, the Bay Muffler Shop Esslinger 10W car is getting a setup adjustment by driver Rob Russell.  Russell went on to qualify for the dash, as well as win the main event.

Cliff and Jack Walker stay busy with last minute details.  Jack checks his book for the best setup figures, while Cliff tapes off the radiator of the Pontiac.

Burt Foland, with many years of driving in both BCRA and USAC races, is the man to have in the pits when you are setting up a race car.

Bill Foland enjoys his first ride on a dirt track.  He made the feature and was running third when a hit from another car pushed him into the wall.  He sure looked smooth in the Pontiac.
